Customer Review: BEWARE! Only 58.5% platinum. OVERPRICED!

I bought this item from Amazon's jewelry sale, but I regret it for 2 reasons.



1) Currently (April 24, 2008), platinum is ~$70 per gram. By calculation, 0.585 of platinum on this 1.4 grams yields 0.819 gram of platinum ONLY. At $229.99, the cost per gram of platinum is $281. That is an OVERPAYMENT of $211 per gram. However, I bought it on sale for $109.99, but I still OVERPAID by $65 per gram.



2) I thought I was getting 950 platinum (0.950 or 95.0%) jewelry based on the title. Although they did post it as 0.585, it is in small print, so I missed it. Had I known, I wouldn't have ordered it, but Amazon won't let me cancel the order. To the unsuspecting customer, they may purchase it in error because they think they're getting a great deal. THINK AGAIN!



I won't fall for this type of trickery again.

The two cycle average daily balance method is applied to determine the card holder?s charges. This method is slightly costlier than the more commonly used daily average balance. The Discover Platinum Card has no annual fee. Also, there is no charge for additional cards on one account. You can share all the benefits of the cards with your family members with the additional cards issued in your name.

The fee for every cash advance transaction with this card is 3%. It charges late fee of $15 on balances up to $500, and $39 on balances over $500. Its over limit fee is $15 on balances up to $500, and $39 on balances over $500. You will get air travel accident insurance and rental car collision coverage with this card.
