Customer Review: BEWARE! Only 58.5% platinum. OVERPRICED!

I bought this item from Amazon's jewelry sale, but I regret it for 2 reasons.



1) Currently (April 24, 2008), platinum is ~$70 per gram. By calculation, 0.585 of platinum on this 1.4 grams yields 0.819 gram of platinum ONLY. At $229.99, the cost per gram of platinum is $281. That is an OVERPAYMENT of $211 per gram. However, I bought it on sale for $109.99, but I still OVERPAID by $65 per gram.



2) I thought I was getting 950 platinum (0.950 or 95.0%) jewelry based on the title. Although they did post it as 0.585, it is in small print, so I missed it. Had I known, I wouldn't have ordered it, but Amazon won't let me cancel the order. To the unsuspecting customer, they may purchase it in error because they think they're getting a great deal. THINK AGAIN!



I won't fall for this type of trickery again.

this is a nice necklace for someone who doesn't like big things on their neck.

its very shiny, the design is also nice. the only problem is that the chain is so thin, it gets tangled easily. but over-all I love it.

It is platinum, $99 gold deal price, its not solid platinum, its hollow inside.
